Websites licensed to display the OnlineReview™ Certified Seal undergo a very rigorous certification process.

This includes verifying that (1) an organization has a valid phone number, email (or contact form), and mailing address (no PO Boxes allowed) listed on its website;  that (2) whois records confirm it as the legitimate owner of the domain name (no private registrations allowed);  that (3) government records confirm the organization as a valid business; that (4) a privacy policy is posted on the website; and that (5) transactions on its website that involve personally identifiable information (such as usernames and passwords) and sensitive information (such as credit card numbers) are protected via at least 128-bit encryption, as evidenced by a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate from a valid issuing authority.
